Shi Sanchez Capital Management is a Newport Beach based investment manager focused on building diversified portfolios of alternative strategies that exhibit low correlation to public equity and fixed income markets.
The firm was founded by Peter Shi and David Sanchez to give qualified investors access to a curated set of institutional alternative managers through a single allocation. The flagship vehicle is the Transpacific Discover Fund, LP.

We allocate across alternative strategies selected for their return profiles, manager quality, and low correlation to traditional markets. We do not use leverage at the fund level. Every allocation must earn its place in the portfolio on its own merits.

Peter Shi
Peter founded Shi Capital Management and serves as CEO of the Shi Sanchez Capital GP. His background spans private equity, commercial real estate, and portfolio management, including roles at PNK Investment Management, First Capital Securities, and a Los Angeles family office overseeing a portfolio of commercial and residential real estate investments. He established his portfolio management track record at Talson Capital Management before launching the Shi Capital group. Peter holds a B.S. in Business Administration from USC's Marshall School of Business and an M.M.S. in Asset Management from the Yale School of Management.
David R. Sanchez
David has more than four decades of experience in global finance, alternative investments, and capital markets. He is President of Sanchez Capital Management and CEO of Sanchez Global, and serves as a Managing Director at Zanbato Securities, an SEC-registered broker-dealer. Earlier in his career, David served as Managing Director at Bear Stearns, Vice President at Merrill Lynch International, Head of Latin America M&A at Bankers Trust, and Assistant Treasurer at J.P. Morgan in the Mergers & Acquisitions group. He holds an M.Phil. and M.A. in Political Science from Yale University and a B.S. summa cum laude from Texas A&M Kingsville. He is a Yale Medal recipient and holds Series 7, 30, 31, 63, and 79 licenses.
